Our first exercise was to draw weird shapes from observation. I felt absolutely hopeless to begin with, but soon realised everyone was in the same boat and eventually felt pretty pleased with my abilities. I focused to listen to the lecturers’ advice, even if it didn’t make sense or work at first. The shapes got progressively harder to interpret, but I felt that my drawing improved with each new page.
Homework is to fill an A3 page with biro lines, practice text and numbers, draw fruit and fill these pages completely with different angles from our imagination.
